Using Dentail Daily
Learn how to use the dashboard, manage patients, schedule appointments, and track finances.
Dashboard: Today at a Glance
After onboarding, you normally land on the Dashboard, which gives you a quick overview of today's schedule and key metrics.
- Today's appointments
- Quick actions (add appointment, treatment, patient)
- Key metrics (upcoming appointments, recent patients)
Screenshot #7 – Dashboard
Replace this placeholder with a screenshot of the main dashboard. Show today's appointments list, a few statistic/metric cards, and quick action buttons so new users understand what they'll see when they first log in.
Screenshot #8 – Patient list
Replace this placeholder with a screenshot of the Patients tab. Show a list of patients with one patient selected and their details visible. Optionally highlight the "History & Files" or similar section.
Patients: Build Your Patient Database
Use the Patients tab to create and manage your patient records.
- Add a new patient
- Search and view patient profiles
- Upload X-rays, documents, medical history
Aim to add at least 5–10 real patients to quickly see the value.
Appointments: Organize Your Schedule
Use the Appointments tab to keep your schedule organized for each day.
- Create a new appointment
- Assign to a doctor and room
- View calendar by day, week, or month
📧 Automatic Email Notifications
When you create or update an appointment, Dentail automatically sends an email notification to the patient with the appointment details. Patients receive these notifications in the language you configured during onboarding (Settings → Preferences → Email Language).
Fill in at least one full day or week of appointments to see how Dentail helps you avoid clashes and track your schedule.
Screenshot #9 – Add appointment
Replace this placeholder with a screenshot of the "Add appointment" form. Show patient and doctor selectors, date and time pickers, treatment/reason, and room (if available).
Treatments & Billing
Screenshot #10 – Patient Treatment History
Replace this placeholder with a screenshot of a patient's treatment history view. Show tabs or sections for Treatments, Payments, and Files where available.
Recording Treatments
When you provide a treatment or procedure, you can log it under the patient's record.
- Select treatment type from your pre-configured list
- Set a price (or use default)
- Add notes or attach files
💡 Automatic Billing
When you add a treatment, Dentail automatically creates a billing record based on the full amount, paid amount, and any remaining balance (shown as pending). You can view overall payment summaries in the Financial Reports, and patient-specific payment history in each Patient's History tab.
Best practice: record treatments and payments the same day they occur.
Financial / Billing Overview
The Financial or Billing section gives you comprehensive analytics and reports about your practice performance.
Financial / Billing Overview
The Financial or Billing tab gives you insights into your practice's revenue and outstanding balances.
- **Revenue** – Track total income over time with monthly, quarterly, and yearly breakdowns
- **Patient Growth** – Monitor new patient acquisition trends across different time periods
- **Treatment Distribution** – Analyze which treatments are most common in your practice
- **Dentist Performance** – Compare productivity and revenue across your dental team
All reports can be viewed by month, quarter, or year to identify trends and plan accordingly.
💡 Best practice: Review financial reports weekly to monitor revenue, track unpaid treatments, and keep cash flow healthy.
Screenshot #11 – Financial / Billing dashboard
Replace this placeholder with a screenshot of the financial or billing dashboard. Show a revenue chart or graph, a list of payments, and key summary cards such as total revenue for the month.
Screenshot #12 – Settings overview
Replace this placeholder with a screenshot of the main Settings screen. Show sections such as Clinic Info, Staff, Treatments, Rooms, Invitations, and Subscription / Account.
Settings: Configure Your Clinic
Use Settings to configure your clinic and control who has access to what.
- Clinic information (name, contact, address)
- Treatment types and prices
- Rooms / operatories
- Staff roles and permissions
🏥 Rooms / Operatories
In **Settings → Rooms**, you can define your clinic's operatories or treatment rooms. Each room has a name (e.g., "Room 1", "Operatory A") and can be assigned to appointments. This helps you:
- Avoid double-booking the same room
- Organize your daily schedule by physical space
- Track room usage and optimize your clinic layout
Setting up rooms early makes appointment scheduling much smoother, especially in multi-chair practices.
⚙️ Treatment Types & Pricing (Critical Setup)
docs.pages.dailyUse.settings.treatmentTypesDesc
⚠️ Set this up BEFORE scheduling appointments – every appointment requires a treatment type, and prices are based on these defaults.
Price History: Prices can change over time (inflation, fee schedule updates). When you update a price, Dentail preserves the historical pricing so old treatments maintain their original costs. When adding a new treatment to a patient, the current default price is pre-filled, but you can override it for specific cases.
